Just some ramblings on adversity and overcoming failure.

IMG_0005.JPG

I myself would much rather read motivational and inspirational books than anything you can find on social media. However, from time to time I just need to shut my brain off and dive into the mindless worlds of social media and TV. Amongst my down time, I turned to Facebook and read a quote that hit home for me big time. “Don’t pray that you have an easier life, pray that you can overcome the hardships and adversity from a challenging life.”

Do you want the easy way out, or the triumph from the tough victory. Every time you have to work to achieve something, the taste of victory is that much sweeter.

In terms of life, I don’t want to speak on my own adversity I have overcome, because mine is minimal compared to many others I know. But at the end of the day, I love the challenge that life presents, and some times we are directly effected by happenings in our environment.

What about so many people wanting the quick and easy fix. I love the journey in life, and we do not get to experience that when there is a quick fix. I have a couple of friends that are preparing for fitness shows, and watching them transform their bodies through hard work and dedication is priceless. They are an inspiration. Their efforts are somewhat extreme in the fact of their pursuits. But it is not much different than athletes in my sport of fitness, or professional athletes of many kinds that put in long hard hours on a field, gym, and most importantly the kitchen.

The quote is based on life, but life is a gift that we get to appreciate daily, or should appreciate daily. And each day gives us an opportunity to become a better person. We all have hobbies and if our hobbies somehow line up with our life’s beliefs and it presents the chance to overcome the challenges we are faced with, then by all means go after, and do not be afraid of failure. For that is the truest definition in my book of adversity, failure is always present, and will happen from time to time, but what do you do with those experiences?

The journey of starting a new chapter in your life is always intriguing and scary at the same time. Training and faith are my two stable rocks that will help me with my vision.

Everyday is a new day, and I will make it the best day that I can. Whether I am up or down, the ebbs and flows of life will play themselves out. Ride out the lows because the highs will soon follow.

Enjoy you journey!
