One of the greatest traits of a true competitor is what they do after a perceived failure or disappointment.

I had an opportunity to make a big push, but I did not. I can continue to be angry, frustrated and disappointed but what will that really accomplish. There are two weeks left, and anything can happen in that time. It is up to me, the effort that I put in, the mind state that I compete in regardless of what the outcome is.

I will be successful, and this feeling of anger I carry today will fuel my desire to compete tomorrow. Tomorrow is another chance to improve on the person I am after my defeat. So bring it on, as there is only one person that can stand in my way, and they will not be allowed to do that today, tomorrow or ever because my time is now.

16.3

Post workout notes.

My breathing and heart rate got up, but I feel my limiter was more muscle endurance and grip.

Started with a muscle snatch for 3 rounds and then went to a power. I think it was round 4 that I started breaking into 2 sets, part of this is mental, might be able to hold on to unbroken sets longer on Monday. I didn’t have a counter today to keep me honest in between breaks, will make sure I have this on Monday.

Wouldn’t not be able to go at an optimal time tomorrow so had to give it my first run today. I have no other choice to be in a better mental and physical place Monday. Also started chalking more frequently, in the moment I don’t think I was using it as an extra excuse to rest every set, in my mind as the lme was becoming a factor or wax more worried about failing a muscle up, and finishing round 6 was close.

Can’t think of any other notes at this moment.

EMOM x 30
Min 1 – Overhead squats x 8 @ 115lbs (from ground)
Min 2 – 16 russian swings @ 2pd
Min 3 – 8 bar muscle ups
Min 4 – 16 wallballs
Min 5 – 8 power snatches @ 115
Min 6 – Rest
on paper I thought this was going to be really tough so I made it super important to do a hardcore warm up. Didn’t feel challenging until round 3 in the wall balls. Rd 4 my back started getting a little fatigued in swings. All muscle ups done unbroken until rd 5, stopped at 5, felt like my hands would’ve torn had I finished all 8. All power snatch done tng.

Felt much better in my pm session. Much closer to my normal training time, there could be a couple other small factors. I had a huge and later than normal breakfast. A little less sleep and not to mention the emotional stress of the 16.2 redo. But was very happy to close out the day strong.
